“You’re my childhood dream.” 💖
“Playing for Chicago feels like I’m playing for my hometown because it is
my home now. You’re my home. Being loved by you for the rest of my life is
the only dream of mine that’s never wavered. There’s no doubt in my mind
that I’m already exactly where I want to be.”

This man, 🤌🤌

okkayy... So, this one was one of my most anticipated reads and it justified all the hype.

So basically, this is a second chance romance (my fav trope) where they were in love since their teenage years but due to some circumstances got separated.
Now six years later they both once again come into each other's lives, and they fall in love and obviously have a happily ever after.
The way the feelings were written is "chef's kiss " and not only for Hallie but also Rio.
Rio is obviously going to book bf list, because he loves her so much, not only does he express it in words, but he also showed it in his actions.
And the thing I liked most about both of them was generally after such breakups both the leads go around fucking the whole town but both Hallie and Rion did not just go crazy for sex.
Also, the groveling🤌😍. I love to read about men who have to grovel to get their love back, in this case the FL had already forgiven him, but he still felt guilt and regret just shows how he thinks highly of her and respects her.
The FL was obviously one of the most favorite characters of mine because when she was in need of emotional and financial support, she did not try to ask help from everyone instead she put her big girl pants on. Generally, in books at such time the ML would come running to help her out, but this showed a strong side of Hallie's character.
Overall, it was a 5/5 for me. The only thing that bothered me is that there were many Cruz, Indy and Ryan references.
